Throughout 130 years, milkrite | InterPuls have supported farms with exceptional research and development of innovative systems.
In early 2022, they reached out for the support and expertise of WellData, requesting an appropriate archiving solution for their manufacturing system.
Milkrite | InterPuls required a data archiving solution to complement their new manufacturing system, which stored data using a SQLite database.
To maintain performance, data needed to move from SQLite to a SQL Server database for reporting purposes.
Subsequently, data also needed to be deleted from SQLite, which was handled by the third party who provided the client with the system. WellData liaised closely with the client and manufacturing provider to create a solution that met the requirements of both parties.
Extensive investigation revealed that PowerShell would be suitable for moving data, while a config database held the relevant information regarding archived tables.
PowerShell used a table of archived tables to locate source data, and as new tables were added, the following execution picked them up.
Log tables provided a way to identify the amount of archived records and measure success. Meanwhile, a list of successful rows was also generated and stored in SQLite, so the manufacturing solution could check the status of data prior to selection for deletion.
Upon completion, a report was generated and emailed to a distribution list as confirmation of a successful execution.
