At this time of year companies are receiving Christmas cards from many of their suppliers. This is not surprising, as Christmas cards represent an opportunity to reach out to clients on a more personal level, at a time when we all share that festive feeling.
At WellData we also want to reach out to our community and send our best wishes, but over time we realised that this is actually an opportunity for us to bring the true spirit of Christmas to life. This is why you won’t receive a printed card from us.
Several years ago WellData stopped sending Christmas cards. As well as an environmental concern, we decided to donate the cost of cards and postage to charities instead. But that is not all.
Each year, just before the festive season starts, we select a charity to support throughout the following year. In recent years we have supported Plastic Ocean UK, Alzheimer’s Society and the British Heart Foundation.
This year we asked our team to nominate and vote for their favourite charity. One of our employees, Luke Salter, nominated Bath Cats & Dogs Home, and this was voted the charity for us to support for 2020.
As part of our commitment to giving back to the community, we will start our fundraising with a Christmas raffle, followed by a donation in lieu of sending Christmas cards.
Over the course of the year we are also planning to take part in fundraising events, like the one that Luke is undertaking in June 2020. Luke will take part in the Cotswold Way Challenge 2020, by walking, jogging or even running 100K! If you want to support him, please visit his JustGiving page.
This is Sponge, one of the lovely dogs in Bath Cats & Dogs Home at the moment. Our fundraising will be helping dogs like him and others.
As for us, we would like to take this opportunity to thank you for your continued support and to wish you a very Happy Christmas and New Year!
